Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
TheRoadLaw does not sell personal information for monetary consideration and does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. This page describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) in case our practices change.
Your right to opt out
Under California law, you have the right to direct businesses not to "sell" or "share" your personal information. As defined under CPRA:
- "Sale" means selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration.
- "Share" means sharing personal information with a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary or other valuable consideration.
Our current practices
As of the "Last updated" date above:
- TheRoadLaw does not sell personal information of California residents for monetary or other valuable consideration.
- TheRoadLaw does not share personal information of California residents for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- TheRoadLaw does not have any current commercial relationships under which personal information is provided to third parties for the purposes described above.
Because we do not currently engage in selling or sharing personal information, there is nothing for you to opt out of at this time.
If our practices change
If TheRoadLaw begins selling or sharing personal information in the future, we will:
- Update this page and our Privacy Policy to reflect the change
- Provide a clear and conspicuous opt-out mechanism (a button or form) on this page
- Honor opt-out requests within the timelines required by California law
- Honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request
How to submit an opt-out request
Even though we do not currently sell or share personal information, you may still submit an opt-out request to ensure your preferences are recorded for the future.
To submit a request:
- Use our contact page to send a message with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share — California Privacy Request"
- Include your full name and the email address associated with your contact with us, if any
- State clearly: "I am a California resident requesting to opt out of the sale and sharing of my personal information."
We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and will record your opt-out preference. We will respond substantively within 45 days as required by California law.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a Do Not Sell or Share request on your behalf. To do so, the agent must provide:
- Written permission from you to act as your authorized agent
- Sufficient information for us to verify your identity
Non-discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. This means we will not deny you access to the Site, charge you different prices for services, or provide you with a different level of service based on your opt-out request.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser session. Because we do not currently sell or share personal information, the GPC signal is recorded but does not change our existing practices.
Other California privacy rights
Your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information is one of several rights under California law. For information about your other rights — including the rights to know, delete, and correct personal information — see our Privacy Policy.
